Based on the classic Triumph Bonneville, which first graced our highways and byways in 1959, the Bonneville Bobber is a contemporary cruiser that delivers a rip-roaring riding experience.
The modern-day iteration very much maintains the stripped-down aesthetics of the original. This allows it to make optimal use of a powerful engine in order to deliver exceptional performance levels.
Speaking of engines, this one features a liquid-cooled, eight-valve, 270-degree crankshaft angle parallel-twin 1200cc motor that outputs 76.9bhp at 6,100 rpm and 106Nm at 4,000 rpm. Whether you’re nipping around town or cruising at motorway speeds, the Bonneville Bobber will deliver a smooth ride, soundtracked by a signature engine growl.
The engine has been updated to accord with present-day sensibilities and requirements, which means it’s fully Euro 5 compliant, producing CO2 emissions from 105g/km while returning up to 60.9mpg.
In keeping with its bare-bones appearance, the Bonneville Bobber features a minimum-size 9.1-litre fuel tank which nevertheless offers a range of up to 138 miles. In any case, who doesn’t require a break every 100 miles or so?
Entry-level models come well-specified as standard. For instance, Road and Rain riding modes, torque-assist clutch, ride-by-wire throttle (with switchable Traction Control) and single-button Cruise Control are all included. All-LED lights are another key feature, as are highly effective Brembo brakes. The bike features a floating seat too, which adjusts vertically and horizontally to suit a wide range of rider heights and riding styles.
